Youtube Reality TV Series

This weekend, I fell down a rabbit hole of a Japanese reality TV show. I was able to put English subtitles on so I could better understand what was going on. There are women and male contestants, all teenagers, who go on the show and get to know each other. This episode was set in Vietnam. It was really interesting to listen to how native speakers speak, especially the younger generation. I could pick up a few sentences just from listening, such as: たかい, かっこいい, いちねんせい, にねんせい, and more. It was also really interesting to see different styles and subcultures spoken about. I also picked up when Fujinagamotosan was talking about his seven piercings, he said "ななかい" which is similar to the counter for floors of a building! Overall, it was very informative to learn about the Japanese younger generation culture and to improve my listening abilities.

On my way back to campus from    サンクスギビングデー の やすみ,   ひこきで  ノートルダム  の  だいがくに いきました. When considering my options, I decided to choose a movie that allowed me to listen to the audio in Japanese, so I could further develop my listening comprehension. " バッドガイズ "  という ええが です.  ええが は おもしろったです, おすすめです! The movie followed a group of animals that are often thought of as bad: a wolf, a tarantula, a piranha, a snake, and a shark. The movie is charming, and it is obviously aimed at a children's audience. Yet, due to this, I was able to understand a lot of what the characters were saying as the dialogue was simpler! This experience raised my confidence in my Japanese listening comprehension, and it was a cute movie. Let me know if you have seen it!
